First examples of tri- and tetraphosphametacyclophanes: synthesis and isolation of an unusual hexapalladium complex containing pincer units with Pd-P covalent bonds

Abstract

The synthesis of the first examples of tri-and tetraphosphameta-cyclophanes [ m-{-C(O)C5H3N(C(O) PPh)}(3) (1) and m-{-C(O) C5H3N (C(O) PPh)}(4) (2)] is described. The reaction of 1 with [ Pd(eta(3)-C3H5) Cl] 2 yielded a rare hexapalladium(II) complex with four Pd-P covalent bonds.
