| Abstract: | Impossibility of simultaneous time and frequency compactness is a well known theorem occurring in several introductory texts on Signal and Systems. A proof of the theorem is however left to an advanced discussion on Fourier analysis. This paper presents a lucid proof of the same, employing simple properties of the Fourier transform. |
