| Abstract: | Conformational analysis of nitro substituted 4-en-3-one steroids has been further investigated using high resolution 2D-NMR techniques. An attempt on the preparation of 6 beta-nitrocholest-4-en-3-one resulted in a new trinitro steroid, 2,2,6 beta-trinitrocholest-4-en-3-one. These compounds have been characterized using COSY, HETCOR, NOESY experiments and the probable pathways to these products have been discussed. |
