Abstract: meso-(4-Borylphenyl)thiaporphyrin building blocks with N(3)S and N(2)S(2) porphyrin cores have been synthesized using two different approaches and used for the synthesis of meso-meso- and beta-meso-1,4-phenylene-bridged unsymmetrical porphyrin dyads containing two different porphyrin subunits.
