Reactions of bisbenzalacetone with functionalised enamines

Abstract

Reaction of the cross-conjugated olefin, bisbenzalacetone 2 with different functionalised enamines, results in the formation of different types of products. Crotonaldehyde dienamine 9 gives the cyclohexene derivative 10; isomeric mixture of isophorone dienamine 11 gives the delta-annulated product 12 and the dimedone enaminone 13 affords the spiroannulated compound 14.
