|Abstract: ||Detailed photodecomposition of 1-(3'-quinolyl)propynal tosylhydrazone sodium salt in methanol and acetonitrile-two polar solvents is described. Time evolution of photolytic absorption spectra and GC-MS study of the photolytic products have been carried out to identify the intermediate diazo compound, and the environmental effects on the product distribution from the carbene generated.|
