|Abstract:||Shake flask cultures using a chromate resistant isolate identified as Pseudomonas sp. in defined medium containing 60 mg Cr(VI)/l gave maximum chromate reduction of 87% at 40-degrees-C and pH 9 in 72 h with urea as nitrogen source. Continuous culture at 30 C, pH 7.2-7.6 and dilution rate of 0.014/h in a 2-l chemostat with the same isolate showed 81% chromate reduction with feed containing 124 mg Cr(VI)/l.|
