Abstract: We find a new effect, namely, the variation of the ratio of concentrations of ortho- and para-isomers of hydrogen in thermal equilibrium in a uniform external magnetic field with field strength and temperature, that can be observed experimentally. The observation can determine the variation of bond length with the magnetic field strength. (C) 2008
