Abstract:	The effect of UV (253.7 nm) bleaching and subsequent thermal annealing treatment in the range 400-500degreesC, were studied in order to investigate the role of E-1'-centre on sensitization of 110degreesC and 220degreesC peaks in quartz. The decay of E-1'-centre in thermal annealed samples and observation of E-1'-centres after UV bleach, accompanied by desensitization of TL in the quartz sample, appears to lend support to the role of competing traps and El-centres in the sensitization process.
