| Abstract: | Zetapotential measurements have been carried out on two different coals from Mandaman and Kusumunda. The measurements were made on mineral matter and the coal substance separately. Mineral matter contains clays and its electrokinetic behaviour was therefore similar to clays. The coal substance showed a complex behaviour mostly due to the presence of impurities. It has been explained on the basis of -COOH and phenolic -OH group on the coals surface. |
