| Abstract: | The synthesis of naturally occurring 2',5'-dihydroxy-2'',2''-dimethyl-2H-pyrano(3',4':5'',6'') chalcone and bioactive 2',5'-dihydroxy-2-methoxy-2''-methyl-2''-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)-2H-pyrano-(3',4':5'',6'') chalcone is described. An intramolecular oxypalladation reaction has been utilized for the synthesis of the intermediate chromene components. |
