Abstract: The oxidation reactions of diiodoselones 10a and 10b with silver tetrafluoroborate afford linear complexes of iodonium ions with selones 13a and 13b. The decomposition of the tellurium tetraiodide adduct with benzimidazolin-2-selone (12) in chloroform also affords a similar iodonium ion complex 13c. Crystal structure analysis of 13a13c shows interesting supramolecular formation by CHF, CHBr, CHI, Se, and I interactions.
