Abstract: Using intramolecular coordination as an approach, the synthesis and isolation of hybrid selenium ligands, monomeric selenolate complexes of mercury and tellurium azamacrocycles is described. It has been demonstrated that intramolecular coordination can be used as a potential approach to isolate stable, monomeric organo-selenium and -tellurium species which are otherwise unstable.
